ÛÛ Here are we, witnessing the fulfilment of
ÛÛ Barathrum's original eight album plan. Anyone
ÛÛ foolish enough to expect Finland's jetblack war
ÛÛ metal merchants to grow old gracefully? Just a few
ÛÛ minutes into "Anno Aspera" will show Barathrum at
ÛÛ their most lethal and vicious, if anything. This
ÛÛ particular beast of the apocalypse just happens to
ÛÛ grow new heads to spit forth more venom and scorn.

ÛÛ Demonos Sova is the man behind the madness, not to
ÛÛ forget a local legend and tattooed metal desperado
ÛÛ of the old school--and Barathrum's sole songwriter
ÛÛ and poet of the pit. To the bitter dismay of
ÛÛ non-believers, he has steered the Barathrum ship
ÛÛ through seas of alcohol, a thousand hardships and
ÛÛ equally many line-up changes ever since early
ÛÛ nineties.

ÛÛ The 1998 Easter Holocaust tour of Finland (w/
ÛÛ Wizzard and Babylon Whores) already proved
ÛÛ Barathrum to be an live act not to be missed, be
ÛÛ it for the sheer power of their original sound
ÛÛ driven by two (!) bass guitars or simply the
ÛÛ outrageous showman antics.
ÛÛ
ÛÛ There is a consistency to Barathrum that is hard
ÛÛ to ignore; they can play songs off their first
ÛÛ demo in the live-set alongside new hits and they
ÛÛ kill all the same.
ÛÛ
ÛÛ They started off as a dirgey black-doom band, but
ÛÛ nowadays one can expect an occasional blast beat
ÛÛ or thrash metal riff in the best eighties style.
ÛÛ There's no let down. Barathrum take a chokehold
ÛÛ and the iron grip stays until the show's over.
ÛÛ
ÛÛ Commander Mikko Karmila, whose mixing credits
ÛÛ include the who's who of Finnish metal elite from
ÛÛ Nightwish to [CENSORED]ren of Bodom has been helping
ÛÛ fine-tune the original Barathrum rumble into
ÛÛ berserk frenzy of epic proportions from his throne
ÛÛ behind the Finnvox mixing desk.

ÛÛ Truly black, talented, and one of the last
ÛÛ remaining bands from the golden period of the
ÛÛ second wave of black metal still true to their
ÛÛ ethos. No lovelorn gothic fantasies or nu-metal
ÛÛ here, but plenty of goat vomit and edged weapons,
ÛÛ guitars tuned to 666 MHz and basses churning
ÛÛ cauldrons of blood.

ÛÛ While nobody dares to imagine the future of the
ÛÛ band since Demonos has moved to wreak havoc in
ÛÛ Bavaria, the legend will live on.
